Report: Evaluation of the Disinfection Capabilites of the Safe Water Solutions L.L.C. Cryptosporidium Inactivation Device

Source: Safe Water Solutions
The CID is an advanced ultraviolet system designed to inactivate Cryptosporidium cysts and Giardia oocysts in clean water. The purpose of this test was to determine the bacterial disinfection capabilities of the CID. The challenge consisted of two trials: one using Excherichia coli and one using Bacillus subtilis endospores. E. coli was used since it is a known waterborne pathogen. B. subtilis was used since the endospores produced by this organism are highly resistant to inactivation by ultraviolet irradiation.
